Custom Physics Engine

AerosPearls includes a dedicated physics manager that overrides default Minecraft projectile mechanics, giving server administrators full authority over pearl flight trajectories, velocity, and gravity.

Why Custom Physics Matter

In vanilla Minecraft, ender pearls follow a rigid gravity acceleration of 0.03 blocks/tick squared on the Y-axis. On modern versions (1.9+), pearl physics can feel sluggish or heavy compared to classic 1.7/1.8 combat mechanics.

AerosPearls runs a lightweight 1-tick engine that:

  1. Multiplies initial launch velocity vectors.
  2. Applies real-time gravity compensation vectors during flight.

Configuration

In config.yml:

yaml
physics:
  enabled: true
  velocity-multiplier: 1.2
  gravity-modifier: 0.02
  hitbox-size: 0.25

Settings Explained

  • enabled: Toggles the custom physics engine. If set to false, vanilla Minecraft projectile physics will apply.
  • velocity-multiplier: Multiplies the initial projectile vector when thrown.
    • 1.0: Standard vanilla speed.
    • 1.2: 20% faster flight (recommended for competitive Practice/HCF).
    • 1.5: High-velocity tactical pearls.
  • gravity-modifier: Controls vertical arc curvature.
    • Vanilla default is 0.03.
    • Setting this to 0.02 reduces downward pull by 0.01 per tick, producing a flatter, longer-reaching arc.
  • hitbox-size: Collision radius used for detecting environmental contacts.
