Discord Bot Setup
To allow DiscordSync to communicate with your Discord server, you must create a Discord Bot Application.
1. Create a Discord Application
- Go to the Discord Developer Portal.
- Click New Application and give it a name (e.g.
Hytale Server Bot). - Navigate to the Bot tab on the left sidebar.
- Click Reset Token to copy your bot token. Keep this token secret!
2. Enable Required Gateway Intents
[!IMPORTANT] Message Content Intent: DiscordSync requires the Message Content Intent to read chat messages from your channel and forward them into Hytale.
- Under the Bot tab, scroll down to the Privileged Gateway Intents section.
- Toggle Message Content Intent to ON.
- Click Save Changes.
3. Invite the Bot to Your Server
- Navigate to OAuth2 -> URL Generator.
- Under Scopes, select:
botapplications.commands(required for/statusslash command)
- Under Bot Permissions, select:
Send MessagesSend Messages in ThreadsEmbed LinksRead Message HistoryView Channel
- Copy the generated URL, paste it into your browser, and authorize the bot for your Discord server.
- Right-click the channel where you want chat synced, click Copy Channel ID, and paste it into
config.json.
